Mods I download dont show up in game? - posted in Fallout 4 Mod Troubleshooting: Hello, Havent been able to mod/play fallout 4 in a few months, but I already had some mods on there and came back today and tried some new mods, but I noticed nothing really applied to the game? I use NMM and make sure I activate them and check the requirements for the mods and I have all of them, but only one

Yes you can, but if you enable direct downloading of mods from Nexus to Vortex, then when you try to download to Fallout 4 it assumes you want to use Vortex AND then direct download the Skyrim it is still assuming you are using Vortex. So I suggest you do not use the direct download feature to Vortex. When you're done with Fallout 4 (or are just starting out), you may want to install a mod or few.
